Great work coming out of Japan. Ubiq’window (theguys from Catchyoo) is a cool little “Minority Report” (as they refer to it) type interactive tool for table tops and window storefronts.

There’s some cool demos on their web site but here’s 2 I love:

The fluidity is great and they’ve actually spent some good time building relevant transitions

This one is from Lars too. I have to assume this retail network has sound (SuperBest in Denmark?). Either that or Lars is praying on the fact that, well, I just like beer and he wants his work shown. Sound aside (it could use more visual cues for a Digital Sign implementation), it’ attractive, simple, get’s the point across, highlights the product for the right amount of time and then introduces the price. I can’t speak the language so I can’t tell you much about the product but now it’s 10 in the morning and I feel like a beer

Is that cereal next to the beer he’s pouring? Lars…beer for breakfast??? :)

This was provided by Lars Pederson in Denmark who works for AcrossMedia.dk. It’s a clip of content played in 7-11 for Ben & Jerry’s. This started to remind me of a Beatles “Lucy in the sky” type of thing until the product came up. It’s amazing how your perception of something can change once it’s related to a product.

The scene is perfectly in line with how B&J wants to be perceived. It creates the weird 60s impact that’s so relevant to a lot of their target demo (and no I don’t mean pot smokers with cravings and 60s hippy throwbacks…I don’t think :) ), leads you slowly into the product shot, drops the price on you and reinforces the 7-11 branding in an associative manner WITH Ben & Jerry’s.

My only complaint was that the price/placement of the product were a little too short.

I love these types of displays for things like after hours window signage. Lots of practical uses – I’d love to see a few of these in action but I would guess that the tech may be too expensive. There’s a bunch of other companies like this out there, a la gesturetek. Nice soundtrack too :)
